Deleting Data
Section titled “Deleting Data”Your data is yours. Delete any of it, or all of it, whenever you want.
Quick Deletions (No Confirmation)
Section titled “Quick Deletions (No Confirmation)”These happen instantly:
Remove a list item
Section titled “Remove a list item”Remove milk from groceriesCancel a reminder
Section titled “Cancel a reminder”Cancel my reminder about the meetingModerate Deletions (YES Confirmation)
Section titled “Moderate Deletions (YES Confirmation)”These require you to reply YES:
Clear a list
Section titled “Clear a list”Clear my grocery listFigaro: Are you sure you want to clear your grocery list? This will remove all 12 items. Reply YES to confirm.
Delete a list entirely
Section titled “Delete a list entirely”Delete my grocery listFigaro: Delete your grocery list and all its items? Reply YES to confirm.
Forget a specific memory
Section titled “Forget a specific memory”Forget what I told you about my doctorFigaro: Forget that your doctor is Dr. Chen? Reply YES to confirm.
Major Deletions (Special Phrase Required)
Section titled “Major Deletions (Special Phrase Required)”For complete data deletion, a special confirmation phrase is required to prevent accidents:
Delete all your data
Section titled “Delete all your data”Delete everything you know about meFigaro: This will permanently delete your entire account: all messages, lists, reminders, memories, and integrations. This cannot be undone.
To confirm, reply exactly: FIGARO FORGET ME
Full account deletion

Why Different Confirmation Levels?

We designed this to match the consequences. Removing milk from groceries? No big deal. Deleting your entire history? That needs to be intentional.
What “Delete” Really Means
Section titled “What “Delete” Really Means”When you delete data:
- It’s removed from our database — Not hidden, actually deleted
- Backups expire — Database backups rotate, deleted data isn’t preserved
- No “deleted items” folder — Once gone, it’s gone
- Immediate effect — Figaro won’t reference deleted data
Via the Dashboard
Section titled “Via the Dashboard”You can also delete data through app.textfigaro.com:
- Lists page — Delete individual items or entire lists
- Reminders page — Delete individual reminders
- Memories page — Delete individual memories
- Settings — Full account deletion
Disconnect Integrations
Section titled “Disconnect Integrations”To remove connected services:
Via text
Section titled “Via text”Disconnect my Google CalendarVia dashboard
Section titled “Via dashboard”Go to Integrations → Click Disconnect
This revokes Figaro’s access and deletes the stored tokens.
After Deletion
Section titled “After Deletion”What happens to your phone number?
Section titled “What happens to your phone number?”If you delete your account, your phone number is no longer associated with Figaro. You could sign up again as a new user.
Can you recover deleted data?
Section titled “Can you recover deleted data?”No. When you delete, it’s permanent. We don’t keep “just in case” copies.
Do we keep analytics?
Section titled “Do we keep analytics?”Aggregate, anonymous statistics only (like “X messages sent today”). Nothing tied to your account.
